How To Create A Business Website

• Choose a domain name

I chose “LittleIT” because it is my business name. Whats yours? When you've decided on a name the first thing to do is check that this domain name is available. • Set up your email accounts.

Once you have registered your domain name, you'll need to set up an email account.Lets use “LittleIT” as an example, I have registered my domain name as www.littleit.co.uk So now I can start creating email address for this domainI need an email package to be able to do this, I bought this from 1&1 Internet Ltd. Email packages start from only £0.69 per monthI now have set up various emails accounts, my main one is info@littleit.co.uk

So now I have

i. bought and registered my domain name www.littleit.co.uk
ii. and set up my email account info@littleit.co.uk next step is to get a website

• Design and publish your Website

This could be the trickiest part.If you are comfortable with HTML etc then you could use this method,if not read on.. . If NOT see the next section.I have 2 websites, the first I built using basic software, such as a web design and ftp.Web design software to create your websiteFTP application you need to publish your design.Here is the first of the websites I built using the above method www.littleit.co.ukThis process cost me firstly for the design software, secondly for the FTP software and thirdly the space to host my website.There are plenty of software packages out there to buy and they vary from free to expensive, but you need in the end to “HOST” your creation somewhere.I chose 1&1 Internet Ltd, I bought their “Home” package and at £4.99 per month is great value, as it includes an email account and a free domain!
